“there is a voice that doesn’t use words. listen.” – rumi
and as i listen to little odin, i can hear his voice. he doesn’t use words, and so i listen with my heart. he tells me when he’s hungry, when he’s tired, when he wants to be held. i listen closely and his voice fills me. there is no doubt, i understand.
if i were listening for words, i would get frustrated and he would get disappointed. but because we understand that he’s communicating without words, that it’s all about listening, we connect, and we find peace.
so often we only hear the words people speak, when it’s really the space between the words that are packed with meaning. and so i listen with my heart, and this is when i hear a person’s true desire, intent, purpose… i hear and connect to the other’s true self.
