some of the tiniest moments are the most precious

I love love love my parents’ friends! They are just precious. All so frail, all so tentative in their movements, all so happy to see me.

as I sit with them I can see they have so much to teach me. I can ask questions, lots of them, since I am so curious, but I can just be happy that I’m there with them. They don’t demand anything from me, but I can tell you it’s the simple things in life they appreciate from me. They love

a. A smile

b. A hug or simple touch

c. An opportunity to connect

d. Time. They just want me to visit and listen to their stories.

And so I pause and open my heart.  these dear folks who aren’t here on this beautiful earth much longer,  touch me and move me and remind me just how precious life is.
